Celebrating the Class of 2024 PYTC Athletes Heading to College.

At the Phoenix Youth Track Club, we couldn't be prouder of our athletes who are transitioning from high school to university this fall. Their dedication, hard work, and remarkable achievements have set a high bar, and we are excited to see them continue their passion for track and field at the collegiate level. Here's a spotlight on our outstanding athletes:

Annaleise Taylor – University of Oregon

Annaleise Taylor, a standout from Canyon View High School, leaves behind an impressive legacy. Her highlight performances include the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, long jump, 4x100m, and 4x400m relays. Annaleise holds school records in the 100m hurdles, 300m hurdles, 4x100m relay, 4x400m relay, and long jump. She is the reigning state champion in the 300m hurdles and boasts the second-fastest time in the event in Arizona history. Additionally, Annaleise was honored as the Gatorade Athlete of the Year. She will be taking her talents to the University of Oregon, where she will compete in the 100m hurdles, 400m hurdles, and relays. Go Ducks!

Kaira Burrage – California Polytechnic State University

Kaira Burrage from Xavier College Prep High School has made her mark with outstanding performances in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles. She leaves high school as the second fastest hurdler in Xavier College Prep's history for both events. Kaira will be continuing her athletic journey at California Polytechnic State University. Go Broncos!

Mackenzie Lopez – Brown University

Mackenzie Lopez, also from Xavier College Prep High School, excelled in the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles, achieving state finalist status in both events. She finishes high school as the 4th fastest 100m hurdler and the 3rd fastest 300m hurdler in school history. Mackenzie will be running for Brown University under the guidance of Aries Merritt, the current world record holder in the 110m hurdles. Go Bruno!

Luca Cannizzo – Grand Canyon University

Luca Cannizzo from Brophy College Prep has shone in the 200m and 400m dash events. He leaves high school as a state finalist in the 400m and will be joining Grand Canyon University's track and field team. Go Lopes!

Marco Smith – Biola University

Marco Smith, another talented athlete from Brophy College Prep High School, has excelled in the long jump. As a Division 1 state qualifier, Marco will continue his athletic career at Biola University.

We are incredibly proud of these athletes and their accomplishments. They have not only set records and achieved personal bests but have also exemplified the spirit and determination of the Phoenix Youth Track Club. As they embark on this exciting new chapter, we wish them all the best and look forward to seeing them excel at the collegiate level. Go PYTC!
