The Phoenix Track Club Phoenix Track Club’s vision is to help every student athlete realize their full athletic potential. It is our mission to champion a culture of continuous growth and improvement, instilling values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance in athletes as they pursue athletic and personal excellence.

A more holistic approach to training. Tackling the entire role of an athlete and supporting them through this journey.
Roles and expectations
Event Program Director
Responsibilities:
Develop training plans for your specific event (sprints, distance, jumps, hurdles, etc.) based on the season’s progression.
Lead daily practices, ensuring drills, workouts, and activities align with the program's goals.
Monitor athlete development and provide feedback to both athletes and parents regularly.
Coordinate with other coaches to maintain consistency across training sessions.
Participate in athlete recruitment and retention efforts when necessary
Expectations:
Foster a positive, inclusive, and motivational training environment.
Have a plan for the athletes or another assistant coach to follow during practice
Attend all scheduled practices, meets, and team events.
Be proactive in managing athlete well-being, including injury prevention and recovery.
Communicate effectively with the head coach & athletes.
Remain committed to personal professional development (e.g., coaching certifications).
2.Assistant Coach
Responsibilities:
Assist the head coach in running practices, focusing on specific groups or individuals as directed.
Step in to lead practices when the lead program coach is unavailable.
Help ensure proper equipment setup and manage practice flow.
Maintain open lines of communication with the head coach and other assistant coaches.
Support athletes during competitions, including warm-ups and post-event analysis to the program director.
Expectations:
Follow the head coach’s and program director’s training plans and adapt them as necessary for individual athletes.
Provide constructive feedback and encouragement to athletes.
Be punctual and reliable for practices and competitions.
Contribute to the overall team culture by reinforcing sportsmanship, discipline, and effort.
Be willing to take on additional roles as needed, such as athlete recruitment or administrative tasks.
3.Strength & Conditioning Coach
Responsibilities:
Design and lead strength and conditioning sessions tailored to track athletes, focusing on speed, endurance, and injury prevention.
Collaborate with event coaches to integrate strength training into their plans.
Monitor athlete progress and adjust programs as needed based on performance and feedback.
Expectations:
Educate athletes on proper technique and ensure safety during all conditioning sessions.
Keep up with current trends in strength training specific to track and field.
Be available for consultations with athletes needing extra support.
Attend regular practices and competitions to observe how conditioning translates to performance.
4.Team Manager/Administrator
Responsibilities:
Handle administrative duties such as practice schedules, meet registration, and team communication with parents.
Assist with team logistics for events, including transportation and accommodations.
Support the coaching staff by tracking athlete attendance, progress, and other data.
Expectations:
Ensure smooth communication between coaches, athletes, and parents.
Be organized, timely, and detail-oriented.
Attend key practices and events to assist with logistics and planning.
